I’m not an Andy Stanley fan (by any means), but I just finished reading his book The Principle of the Path. It’s excellent—very well-written and thoroughly biblical. I read it because I was looking for something to give to this year’s high school graduates, but I found myself really challenged by it.
Good article in the New York Times about Howard Schultz’s attempts to revitalize Starbucks.
Left unanswered, indeed unasked, is whether Schultz has the smarts and the guts to bring back Chantico.
Also, since you asked, I think the logo change was a mistake and that Starbucks’ mochas are way behind those sold by Caribou and Great Lakes Coffee, both of whom meltdown real chocolate for your mocha.
This is so unbelievable that I can’t even believe it. One of my favorite musicians, Wynton Maraslis, provides music and commentary to a video about my all time favorite player, Barry Sanders, from my favorite NFL team, the Detroit Lions.
The awesomeness of this is too much. I’m in awe. Some.
Oh man, as a life-long Lions fan, I can’t describe to you what a beautiful thing this is: Lions win the Superbowl! And, they beat the Colts—one of the teams I hate the most.

Recently, I carelessly deleted my blog of several years. It was an accident, but I’m not (too) sorry that it happened. I had been thinking about purging a lot of posts from the past and even starting over fresh. This careless accident of mine got me out of the “thinking about it” stage to the [...]
